| Fmoc-Trp(Boc)-OH is recommended for solid phase peptide synthesis, especially for the synthesis of peptides containing both arginine and tryptophan. During deprotection, the sulfonyl protecting groups released from arginine side chains can reattach on tryptophan residues, despite using scavanger additives in the cleavage mixture. Using Fmoc-Trp(Boc)-OH minimizes this side reaction and produces purer crude peptides in higher yield. |
